Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, CIANJUR — Efforts to encourage the regeneration of young farmers continue to be carried out through various training programs and capacity strengthening in the agricultural sector. One of them was seen in the climate smart and agribusiness training activities which were held at Bapelta Cianjur and attended by millennial farmers from various regions, including Karawang Regency, West Java. The training became a learning space for the younger generation to understand modern agricultural patterns that are adaptive to climate change and at the same time have promising economic value. The participants were provided with insight into agribusiness management, agricultural innovation, and the use of technology to increase agricultural productivity. One of the participants from Karawang, Dede, who is a graduate of the Unsika Faculty of Agriculture and comes from the Cilamaya area, is an example of young people who have succeeded in developing businesses in the agricultural sector. He proves that the world of agriculture is no longer synonymous with traditional work, but can become a promising business opportunity if managed in a modern and innovative way. Various commodities have been successfully developed, starting from cultivating melons, crystal guava, cultivating edible mushrooms, to using rice husks as a growing medium for economically valuable mushrooms. This innovation shows that agricultural waste can also be processed into productive products that provide added value for farmers.

"Young people must start to see agriculture as a future business opportunity. With modern technology, agriculture can be more effective, productive and generate good profits," said Dede on the sidelines of the training activity.According to the participants, climate smart training is very important amidst the challenges of increasingly unpredictable weather changes. Farmers are required to be able to understand adaptive planting patterns so that the risk of crop failure can be reduced and productivity maintained. Apart from that, millennial farmers hope that the government can provide greater support for the development of the agricultural sector, especially for the younger generation who want to enter the world of agribusiness. This support is considered important, both in the form of training, access to capital, technological assistance, and marketing of agricultural products. It is hoped that the participation of young Karawang farmers in this training will be the beginning of the birth of a driving force for modern agriculture in the region. With the spirit of innovation and use of technology, it is believed that the younger generation can make Indonesia's agricultural sector more advanced, independent and competitive in the future.
