Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, Karawang – The Karawang Entrepreneur Sejahtera Foundation (KERSA) continues to show its commitment to producing a generation of young farmers through various agricultural programs developed in Karawang Regency. However, until now, it is considered that these efforts have not received adequate support from the regional government, especially regarding agricultural facilities and infrastructure.Chairman of the KERSA Foundation, Muhammad Nur Miroji, said that the agricultural sector currently needs strong regeneration to be able to attract the interest of the younger generation to enter directly into the world of agriculture. Through the melon garden managed in Puseurjaya Village, KERSA is trying to provide a learning and practice space for youth, university students and students. According to him, the garden managed by KERSA has become a place for field practice for Singaperbangsa Karawang University (Unsika) students and Agricultural Vocational School students. It is hoped that this program will be able to produce millennial farmers who are ready to contribute to regional food security."We are not only growing melons, but also trying to produce young farmers who have the skills and enthusiasm for entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. Regeneration of farmers must start from now," said Miroji. However, he admitted that up to now there has been no concrete support received from the Karawang Regency Government regarding the need for agricultural equipment or the development of farmer groups that are being pioneered.KERSA is currently planning to expand the area. cultivation to Bengle Village, Majalaya District. However, this plan is hampered by limited land processing equipment such as cultivators and other agricultural equipment which is really needed to increase productivity.Apart from that, the farmer groups formed by KERSA also cannot be officially registered because of regulations that limit the formation of new farmer groups.According to Miroji, this condition is a challenge in itself for young farmers who are trying to develop the agricultural sector independently."We hope that the Regent of Karawang and related agencies can pay attention to the young farmer movement that we are building. Support in the form of "facilitation, assistance and assistance with agricultural equipment will be very meaningful for the sustainability of this program," he said.He added that, if it receives adequate support, KERSA is optimistic that it can become one of the centers for developing millennial farmers in Karawang as well as helping create new jobs in the agricultural sector. With the younger generation's interest in the world of agriculture decreasing, the existence of communities and institutions that are active in developing young farmers is considered to be an important asset for the future of regional food security. Therefore, it is hoped that the synergy between the community, agricultural actors and the government can be stronger in order to support the birth of young farmers who are independent and competitive. :::
