Idris added that the program was welcomed by the ranks of the People's Movement because it was in line with the melon cultivation development program that was being promoted at the central level.Secretary of the People's Movement, Kiskar Naim Amir, said that his party already had a market and experience in cultivating melons through gardens in the Pangalengan area, West Java. However, for development in Karawang, the party still needs the support of human resources and experts in the field of horticulture."We see great potential in Karawang, but there is still a lack of experts in melon cultivation. Therefore we are inviting the KERSA Farmers Group to collaborate in managing melon cultivation in Karawang," said Kiskar. In this collaboration, the plan is to build a melon cultivation greenhouse in Karawang. Later, the KERSA Farmers Group will act as the cultivation management team, while the People's Movement will act as the owner and supporter of the business development program. It is hoped that this collaboration will be the first step in developing the modern horticultural sector in Karawang as well as opening up new economic opportunities for the community, especially in the field of melon farming based on education and empowerment of local farmers.
