Various types of vegetables such as bok choy, spinach and kale have been successfully cultivated regularly to meet the needs of local residents.Chairman of KWT Mbah Cipto, Chandra Jadianti, explained that currently his group has around 10 planting racks with a capacity of approximately 2,000 planting holes."Thank God, the harvest so far has been quite helpful for the members' economy. Apart from household needs, vegetable products are also sold to the local community," he said.The selling price of the harvest is also quite affordable, namely bok choy Rp. 22 thousand, spinach Rp. 26 thousand, and kale Rp. 18 thousand per kilogram. According to Chandra, the existence of KWT is not only a means of farming, but also a forum for empowering women and strengthening the family economy.
Not stopping at the agricultural sector, KWT Mbah Cipto has also started developing the concept of agriculture-based education for young children through the study farming program. In this activity, participants were introduced to the process of planting and harvesting directly.The educational program targets kindergarten and PAUD schools with package costs ranging from IDR 20 thousand to IDR 30 thousand according to the agreed activity concept.During the visit, a number of administrators were seen actively accompanying activities in the garden, including Mrs. Nung and Mrs. Harianti. Apart from hydroponic farming, the group also manages freshwater fish cultivation using four large tarpaulin ponds containing tilapia and gourami fish.One of the members, Deni, was seen actively caring for the fish ponds during the activity.
