Endang made this statement on Friday (10/4/2026) afternoon, emphasizing that the role of PSM is very crucial in connecting underprivileged residents with government-owned medical facilities. "Please pay attention to our PSM officers. Provide convenience when entering the RSUD, for example free parking. The value may not be large for the institution, but the impact is very helpful in lightening their burden in the field," said Endang.This politician believes that the PSM's dedication often goes beyond their formal duties, even having to stay on guard until late at night to ensure residents receive medical treatment. Considering that the honorarium they receive is relatively small, appreciation in the form of free parking facilities at Karawang District Hospital and Rengasdengklok Regional Hospital is considered a real form of appreciation. It is recorded that each village has an average of three active PSM who regularly refer residents to the hospital.
Responding to this proposal, the Director of Karawang Regional Hospital, dr. Andri Sariful Alam, clarified that the free parking policy for PSM has actually been implemented by the hospital for a long time. However, problems often occur in the field due to changes in PSM personnel at the village level whose data are not immediately reported or updated to the RSUD. This is what makes parking officers continue to charge the general rate because the vehicle data or officer's identity has not been verified. "This policy is already in effect, but if there are new or changed PSM officers, they are required to re-register so that they are recorded in the system. If they are not registered, they will automatically be charged the general rate by the officer at the gate," explained Dr. Andre. Apart from PSM, he also emphasized that the RSUD has long waived parking fees for all ambulance units carrying patients as part of public service standards. The Karawang Regional Hospital promised to carry out a thorough evaluation of this data collection system so that data synchronization between the Social Service, the Village Government and the Regional Hospital runs more smoothly. With a more perfect system, it is hoped that PSM will no longer experience problems while on duty, so that their focus on helping people who need health services in Karawang can run optimally without being burdened with additional costs.
