Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Karawang Regency Government has officially stated its readiness to support the construction of Waste to Electrical Energy (PSEL) Processing facilities. This strategic step was taken following the high urgency in handling domestic waste in Karawang, the volume of which has now reached 1,200 tons per day. This green infrastructure project will be centered at the Jalupang Final Disposal Site (TPA), Wancimekar Village, which is projected to become a center for transforming waste into a source of new, renewable energy (EBT).The Regent of Karawang, Aep Syaepuloh, emphasized that the high daily waste generation is a crucial factor for the central government in determining Karawang as a national priority point. Even though they are still waiting for a final decision, the Karawang District Government has chosen to move quickly by encouraging independent waste management rather than joining regional schemes. This decision was taken for the sake of logistical efficiency, considering that the distance to the regional landfill is considered ineffective for the mobility of the local waste transport fleet.Preparation of supporting infrastructure in the Jalupang TPA area has currently shown significant progress to welcome investors and project implementers. The Karawang Regency Government has completed vital accessibility construction, including bridges and paving the main road around the location. Aep explained that land preparation is underway intensively so that when the construction process begins, all basic facilities are ready to be used without significant technical obstacles in the field.

Apart from improvements at location points, the mobility aspect of the waste fleet is a main concern in the work plan for the 2026 fiscal year. The regional government has scheduled the widening of road access to the Jalupang area to facilitate large tonnage vehicles and logistics flows for the project which is estimated to take around 18 to 24 months to build. The collaborative financing scheme between the central government and regional APBDs is also continuing to be finalized so that this project has a strong financial foundation. The implementation of PSEL technology is expected to be a permanent answer to the problem of piles of rubbish which has been burdening the capacity of the Jalupang TPA. By converting waste residue into electrical energy, Karawang not only overcomes the environmental crisis and air pollution, but also contributes to national energy independence. This step is a concrete form of regional regulatory commitment which aims to provide long-term economic and environmental health impacts for local residents. The presence of PSEL is expected to become a new standard for modern waste management in West Java, as well as creating a cleaner and healthier environment for the people of Karawang.
