Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The management of PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Karawang has again received sharp criticism. HMI Legal Commissariat UBP Karawang issued a strong protest regarding PLN's communication pattern which was considered chaotic and unprofessional in informing the public of plans for power outages. The General Chair of HMI Legal Commissariat UBP Karawang, Garin Putra Pamungkas, emphasized that the trend of blackout information which only relies on "rumors" via WhatsApp chain messages is clear evidence of poor public service management. According to him, as a large company, PLN should have an official, fast and one-stop information delivery mechanism."Today's people are left to fumble when the electricity will go out. Why does an agency as big as PLN seem incompetent in providing certainty? This is not just a matter of technical electricity, but a matter of respecting the time and activities of Karawang residents who are disrupted due to uncertainty in information," criticized Garin Putra Pamungkas, Saturday (20/6/2026).

Garin highlighted how unequal the priorities for PLN Karawang's digital channels are. At a time when the public needs an urgent blackout schedule to anticipate, PLN's social media channels are filled with ceremonial content and service promotions that are not relevant to the residents' emergency needs. For him, this is a form of neglect of basic service functions. The impact of this "communication style" is felt directly by MSMEs and the household sector in Karawang. The absence of an official schedule means that business actors cannot carry out operational mitigation, which ultimately triggers material losses. Likewise for households that are at risk of experiencing electronic equipment damage due to sudden blackouts without notification."We demand that PLN Karawang management immediately improve. Don't let residents continue to be swayed by rumors about matters that concern the lives of many people. Immediately create a real-time and detailed information channel, don't let the public feel ignored by your poor communication management," stressed Garin. In closing, Garin confirmed that HMI Law UBP Karawang will continue to monitor the performance of PLN Karawang. He urged PLN leadership to evaluate the total staff of public relations and customer service. "If PLN is still neglectful and continues to leave people in limbo, don't blame us if we take this issue to a higher level as a form of protest against the low standards of public services," he concluded.
