Glenmore Farm Becomes a PKL Learning Center as a Collaboration Result of KERSA, Agricultural Vocational School, and Unsika Faperta

Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, Karawang – Efforts to increase the competence of the younger generation in the agricultural sector continue to be carried out through field internship programs. A total of 14 participants consisting of students from the Karawang Agricultural Vocational School and students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa University Karawang (Unsika) officially took part in the opening of the internship program at Glenmore Farm Gardens, Puserjaya Village, East Telukjambe District, Karawang Regency, Monday (15/6/2026).The program was attended by 9 students from the Karawang Agriculture Vocational School and 5 students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Unsika. Initially the school scheduled to send 10 students, but one participant was unable to join due to his health condition, so the number of temporary participants was 9 people.The opening of the activity was attended by Haji Noh as the owner of the Glenmore Farm Garden, Ali as the garden manager from the KERSA Team, iNayah as the Project Manager of the KERSA Team, Muhammad Nur Miroji as Chair of the Karawang Entrepreneur Prosperous Foundation (KERSA), and Ani from the social sector of KERSA.Teacher at the Karawang Agricultural Vocational School, Karawang, Syaehul Huda emphasized that internship activities are an important part of the educational process that students must undergo.

"This internship program is not only to gain experience, but is also part of the academic requirements. We hope that all participants can maintain discipline, responsibility and enthusiasm for learning while at the internship location," he said.Meanwhile, the KERSA Team Project Manager, iNayah, welcomed the collaboration between the world of education and agricultural business actors that was established through this program.According to him, learning in the classroom needs to be supported by direct experience so that participants understand the real conditions in the field."Agriculture is not enough to learn through theory alone. Through "In this activity, participants can see firsthand the process of managing gardens, understand the challenges that exist, and put into practice the knowledge they have learned at school and campus," he said.He hopes that the collaboration between KERSA, schools, universities, and garden managers can continue so that more and more pupils and students will have the opportunity to learn directly from modern agricultural practices.During the internship, participants will receive training on plant cultivation techniques, garden care, agricultural operational management, and an introduction to the world of work in the agribusiness sector. It is hoped that this program will be able to produce human resources who are better prepared to face the needs of the agricultural industry in the future.This activity is also a form of synergy between the world of education and the business world in creating graduates who not only have academic abilities, but also practical skills needed in the field.
