Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The integrity of the Karawang Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) is currently being tested by public perception. The authorities' firmness in controlling residents' banners in Klari on Wednesday (1/4) as well as the arrest of seven junior high school students who were truant on Monday (6/4), sparked big questions regarding the consistency of the enforcement of regional regulations which seemed only sharp towards small communities and the world of education.Chairman of the Karawang Islamic Students Federation (FMI), Febry Ramadhan, regretted the existence of visible disparities in law enforcement in the field. He highlighted how the speed of the PRC team's response in transporting junior high school students to patrol trucks was completely invisible when faced with the Theater Night Mart (TNM) operational scandal which had long been a concern for ulama. It is very ironic that the Satpol PP is able to carry out control over illegal banners for reasons of city aesthetics, but seems full of doubts about enforcing regulations on night entertainment buildings that are suspected of manipulating permits.

This criticism is even more justified considering the findings in subpoena number 01/ADV-FORUM/KRW/III/2026. Even though the results of the 3rd BA Expose at the PUPR Service have technically revealed misuse of permits and KBLI codes, Satpol PP as the executor actually seems to prefer to "refrain" rather than carry out permanent sealing action according to applicable procedures. FMI's step in officially bringing this matter to the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia is a reflection of poor bureaucratic coordination in Karawang. This report now puts Satpol PP in a difficult position, where they have to explain why Warning Letter (SP) 3 regarding night entertainment was ignored, while raids on small coffee shops continued without a hitch.FMI Karawang urges the Head of Satpol PP Karawang to reflect back on the agency's reputation as an impartial enforcer of regional regulations. The public does not need a show of strength against outdoor media or students, but rather real firmness to seal entertainment venues that clearly violate regional regulations and hurt religious values in Karawang.Closing his statement, Febry confirmed that monitoring through the Ombudsman would reveal whether this inaction was purely a bureaucratic problem or there was interference from other interests. The people of Karawang are now waiting: will the Satpol PP continue to be satisfied with their achievements in raiding school children, or will they finally have the courage to prove their integrity by locking up the octopus in the nightlife business that violates the rules.
