Karawang District Department of Agriculture, Food Security and Fisheries Encourages Strengthening Farmers, Glenmore Greenhouse Begins to be Optimized

Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, Karawang, 29 April 2026 — The Department of Agriculture, Food Security and Fisheries of Karawang Regency visited the Glenmore Garden which is currently managed by the KERSA (Karawang Entrepreneur Sejahtera) Foundation, in the context of providing guidance to farmers, especially in the field of horticulture.This activity was attended by Mrs. Lia Marliani, S.P., M.P. as Head of the Horticulture Team, Mrs. Diah, S.P., M.P. as Chair of the Institutional Team, and Dedi Rusnandi as staff from the relevant department. During the visit, the service team provided guidance to farmer groups under the auspices of the Karawang Entrepreneur Sejahtera UMKM Foundation.Apart from that, the group also directly inspected the facilities at Glenmore Gardens which has around six greenhouses (GH). One of the greenhouses that is being focused on is GH2, which will soon enter the seeding and cultivation stage. The plan is that GH2 will be planted with Newceria melons as part of the development of more modern and productive horticulture.The Glenmore Garden is located in Puserjaya Village, Sukasari Hamlet, East Telukjambe District, Karawang Regency.From KERSA, this activity was also attended by the Chair of KERSA and the MSME Empowerment Division team in the Horticulture Agriculture Sector, including Inayah Alfarida, S.P., Hibban Aufa, S.P., and Muhammad Ali.Muhammad Ali as Head of the KERSA Agriculture Division Group said that this activity was a good first step in strengthening collaboration between the department and farmers. He hopes that this synergy can be an inspiration for the younger generation to be more interested in getting involved in the agricultural sector. "Through the KERSA Foundation, we hope to create jobs in the agricultural sector, both in the fields of agrotechnology and agribusiness," he said. It is hoped that it can strengthen the synergy between the government, MSMEs and farmers in improving agricultural quality and productivity, especially in the horticulture sector.
