Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The face of the Cikampek area will certainly change completely. The Karawang Regency Government, through the Satpol PP, has again sent a Warning Letter (SP) II to 56 building owners who are still stubborn about occupying Regional Property (BMD) assets and areas belonging to PT KAI. This repressive step is a strong signal that field execution will soon be carried out in mid-July 2026.The arrangement of this area is not just eviction, but rather a large-scale integrated project. Official cross-sectoral synergy was carried out involving PT KAI, Bapperida, PUPR Service, Transportation Department, Industry and Trade Department, Environmental Service, and the Cikampek District Government. They are certain to intervene to complete the normalization of drainage, revitalize sidewalks, and arrange parks at crucial points which have been the source of traffic jams.Kasi Opsdal Satpol PP Karawang Regency, Tata Suparta, emphasized that the procedures had been carried out transparently. Of the 69 buildings initially recorded, now there are 56 buildings still standing. "This is a crucial stage. We are giving residents the opportunity to dismantle independently before the joint team carries out forced control according to the applicable SOP," stressed Tata, Wednesday (8/7/2026).

On the other hand, the position of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta increasingly emphasizes this "clean-up policy". Public Relations of PT KAI, Franoto Wibowo, confirmed that the 19 buildings on KAI's assets no longer have rental rights because the contract period ends in May 2026. "We will not extend the contract. We fully support the Karawang Regency Government's steps for public safety and smooth traffic flow at level crossings," he said. The public now has high hopes for this project. So far, the Cikampek area has been known as a chaotic area, full of traffic jams, and has a high level of vulnerability around train crossings. With intervention from the PUPR and DLH Departments, the government promises that the area will not only be aesthetically pleasing, but will also function as a clean, safe and comfortable public space for residents.Strict inspections and supervision will certainly continue until the deadline for control arrives. The Karawang Regency Government seems to want to prove that this arrangement is a top priority for improving the city's spatial planning. For the surviving building owners, there are only two options left: carry out voluntary demolition before the deadline or face decisive action from the joint team on the ground.
