Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Karawang United Islamic Organization Alliance Forum expressed its appreciation to the Karawang Regency Government, especially the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the One Stop Integrated Services and Investment Service (DPMPTSP), for their responsive steps in carrying out surprise inspections (sidak) of a number of Night Entertainment Venues (THM). The control that took place on Wednesday (29/4) evening was considered a good effort to monitor licensing compliance and maintain public order in Karawang.Despite appreciating the performance of the relevant agencies, the Karawang United Islamic Organization Alliance provided a critical note regarding the attitude of law enforcement in the field. Chairman of the Presidium of the Karawang United Islamic Organization Alliance Forum, Agus Iman, highlighted the disparity in the treatment of Regional Regulation (Perda) enforcement officers towards large entrepreneurs compared to small business actors or the general public. "Facing THM entrepreneurs, they are actually given a tolerance of up to 13 days?" said Agus Iman in Karawang, Saturday (2/5/2026).
The joint inspection, which was carried out from 20.00 to 24.00 WIB, targeted five locations, namely Brotherhood Cafe, New Rich Cafe & Bar, Tropical Resto Karaoke & Bar, D'Tipsy Cafe & Resto, and Sultan Reborn. Based on findings in the field, the five business premises only have Business Identification Numbers (NIB), but have not yet completed further operational permits, such as Building Approval (PBG) and alcohol sales permits.Apart from highlighting licensing issues, Agus also reminded of the potential loss of Regional Original Income (PAD) from the food, beverage and entertainment tax sector due to the businesses not yet being registered as regional taxpayers. According to him, neglecting THM operations during the document processing period could harm the sense of justice among the people of Karawang. As a step to improve principled governance, the alliance urges Satpol PP to carry out its role purely as an executor of regional regulations. It is deemed necessary to temporarily close or seal THM operations until all permits are fulfilled in full in order to create a fair and transparent business climate in Karawang.
