Lili Hendrawati, one of the shop owners at that location, admitted that their shophouse was often used as a place for drinking parties and hanging out until late at night. Kondisi ini membuat warga terganggu, baik dari segi kebersihan lingkungan hingga kebisingan musik yang diputar hingga dini hari."Kami sudah sering melapor melalui kanal resmi seperti Tanggap Karawang dan langsung ke Satpol PP, tetapi responnya sangat minim. Hanya dijawab dengan ucapan terima kasih standar, bahkan ada beberapa warga yang mengaku diblokir akunnya," ungkap Lili saat dikonfirmasi terkait alasan di balik aksi protes tersebut.

Head of Operations and Control (Opsdal) of the Karawang Satpol PP, Tata Suparta, confirmed that there was resistance when the officers wanted to unload the bottles. Warga bersikeras bahwa apa yang mereka lakukan adalah bentuk nyata penyampaian aspirasi atas kondisi lingkungan yang tidak lagi kondusif."Kami memahami keresahan warga. Setelah kami beri penjelasan bahwa penyampaian pendapat harus tetap menjaga estetika dan ketertiban lingkungan, warga akhirnya bisa memahami. Kami akan menindaklanjuti keluhan masyarakat terkait gangguan ketenteraman dan ketertiban umum ini secara lebih intensif ke depannya," pungkas Tata.
