Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The problem of access to education in the Admission of New Students (PPDB) in 2026 is of concern to the Karawang Islamic Student Federation (FMI). Based on data collected, there are 10,000 elementary school graduates in Karawang who are currently facing challenges in accessing junior high school. FMI Karawang encourages the local Department of Education and Culture (Disdikbud) to carry out evaluations and anticipatory steps to ensure that all graduates continue to have the right to education. The General Chairperson of FMI Karawang, Bilal Akbar, stated that this condition is a systemic challenge that is influenced by the significant growth of the school-age population. He believes there is a need for more comprehensive mapping by local governments so that school capacity can balance the number of graduates.
Responding to these challenges, FMI Karawang hopes for data transparency regarding the availability of capacity, both in state and private educational institutions. This openness of information is considered crucial so that the public can obtain certainty regarding the selection process and available educational options. With transparency, it is hoped that the potential for inequality in the implementation of PPDB can be minimized.Related to this, FMI Karawang stated that it would continue to monitor it through the social control function. This step is taken to ensure the PPDB process runs in accordance with the principles of justice and applicable procedures. "We are committed to continuing to monitor the 2026 PPDB process so that it runs according to the provisions and is fair to all students. We hope that the Karawang Education and Culture Office will remain responsive in providing concrete solutions for the community. Our focus is to ensure that the right to education for every child in Karawang can be fulfilled through open and collaborative communication between various parties," concluded Bilal.
