Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Karawang Regency DPRD led a large-scale unannounced inspection (sidak) at the Theater Night Mart location, Jalan Tuparev, Thursday evening (16/4). This step was taken to carry out the monitoring function of licensing compliance and public order. During the inspection, it was discovered that this business premises was allegedly determined to operate commercially even though a series of mandatory licensing documents had not been obtained by the management. This joint inspection involved elements of the PUPR Service, DPMPTSP, Satpol PP, and MUI Karawang. Based on the results of supervision by the technical team in the field, it is suspected that the building does not yet have a Building Approval (PBG) and a Functional Worthiness Certificate (SLF). The absence of this basic document is a serious finding because it concerns the physical legality of the building construction which should have been completed before the place was opened to the public. Member of the Karawang DPRD, Saepudin Zuhri, S.H., emphasized that his party would immediately issue an official recommendation to address this finding. "Tomorrow a closure recommendation letter will be issued which will be submitted to Satpol PP. Currently it is still in the classification stage," said Saepudin to the media crew. This recommendation was issued as a form of enforcing the supremacy of law against business activities that are suspected of ignoring regional administrative procedures.
Apart from the physical problems of the building, the monitoring team highlighted the alleged incompatibility of business risk classification in the licensing system. Theater Night Mart is allegedly only registered as a restaurant in the low risk category, even though the facts on the ground show that the activity is in the high risk category. This difference in categories has an impact on technical standard obligations and supervision which should be much stricter than the initial report submitted by the management. The joint team also found a discrepancy in seating capacity that exceeded the data in the licensing documents. The number of other licensing instruments that are thought to have not yet been issued but are already fully operational are a red note for legislators. This practice is considered to violate business licensing procedures and has the potential to trigger irregularities in the investment climate in Karawang Regency. The regional government through Satpol PP is now on standby to follow up on the results of the inspection immediately after receiving a written recommendation letter from the Karawang DPRD. Firm action in the form of temporary operational suspension will be taken to force the management to complete all its legal obligations. Until this news was published, the joint team was still completing the final classification process for the pile of administrative violations found at the location.
