Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The West Java Regional Police officially confirmed the upgrade of the status of the Karawang Resort Police to the Karawang City Resort Police (Polresta). This historic inauguration ceremony which was coupled with the handover of positions was led directly by the West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pipit Rismanto, at the Karawang Police Headquarters on Monday (27/7/2026).The position of highest leadership at the Karawang Police Headquarters is now officially held by Police Commissioner Mario Prahatinto, replacing the previous official AKBP Fiki N. Ardiansyah. This change in typology is an important milestone following the rapid development of Karawang Regency as one of the largest industrial areas and national investment centers in Indonesia.In his address, West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto emphasized that this increase in status was not just a change in nomenclature, but rather a form of state trust in the National Police being able to provide much more optimal services. The high mobility of the population and the complexity of security and social security challenges in industrial areas require greater and more responsive police organizational capacity.
"With Polresta status, it is hoped that the organization's capabilities will increase in managing regional security, handling industrial conflicts, as well as securing vital objects and investments in a professional and fair manner," said Inspector General Pipit in front of personnel and invited guests.Kapolda also advised Pol Kombes Mario Prahatinto to immediately strengthen internal solidity and increase strategic synergy with TNI ranks, the Karawang Regency Government, Forkopimda, and all elements of society. This cross-sector collaboration is considered to be the main key in maintaining a conducive investment climate and regional economic growth.Through the inauguration of this new status, the Karawang Police are required to be more adaptive, modern and trustworthy in providing a sense of security for the community. It is hoped that the presence of a stronger police institution at the resort city level will be able to answer all the challenges of social security and order along with the rapid development of Karawang as a national strategic area.
