Head of Karawang DPKPP Facilities Visits Glenmore Farm, Supports the Development of KERSA Millennial Farmers

Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, Karawang — The Karawang Regency Government's support for the development of modern agriculture was again demonstrated through the visit of the Head of the Facilities Division of the Karawang Regency Agriculture, Food Security and Fisheries Service (DPKPP), Mr. Mahfud, S.PT, to Glenmore Farm which is managed by the Karawang Entrepreneur Sejahtera (KERSA) MSME community.During the visit, Mr. Mahfud was accompanied by the Head of the Karawang DPKPP Institutional Team, Ms. Diah, SP.MP, along with a number of staff from related agencies. This activity was the third visit by the DPKPP to the agricultural location which is currently being developed by the KERSA community as part of strengthening the modern horticultural agricultural sector in Karawang.This visit is a clear proof of the regional government's attention in supporting the birth of active and innovative millennial farmers, especially in the development of melon cultivation which is now starting to develop in the Karawang area.On that occasion, KERSA said that one of the community representatives received a recommendation from the department to take part in the "Smart Follow Farmers" training. will be held in Cianjur, West Java, from 18 to 22 May. It is hoped that this training will be able to increase the abilities and insight of young farmers in implementing modern agricultural systems, as well as providing provisions for sharing knowledge with other farmer groups in Karawang Regency.

KERSA administrators hope that the guidance, training and technical guidance program from the government can continue in a sustainable manner to strengthen regional food security programs and create the regeneration of modern farmers in Karawang.Meanwhile, Haji Noh as the owner of Glenmore Farm said that the horticultural agricultural sector, especially melon cultivation, has quite large economic potential and is able to open up job opportunities for the local community.According to him, melon plantation management has been proven to be able to absorb workers regularly every day. At least five workers are involved in garden activities with a daily work system that runs consistently."Melon cultivation is still very promising. Apart from having economic value, this sector is also able to help open up employment opportunities for the community," said Haji Noh.He also hopes that in the future Karawang will not only be known as a rice granary area, but will also be able to become a center for producing quality melons, both through conventional and hydroponic methods.With the visit from the Karawang DPKPP, the community KERSA is increasingly optimistic that the regional government is serious about providing guidance, mapping and assistance to active and productive farmer groups. It is hoped that more and more young people will be interested in entering the world of modern agriculture so that the food security program in Karawang Regency can run more optimally and provide real benefits for the wider community.
