Enjang Effendi, expressed deep concern over the circulation of a video allegedly showing same-sex affection at a nightlife venue (THM) in Karawang Regency. According to him, the information circulating should be of serious concern to all elements of society, regional government, law enforcement officials, as well as religious and community leaders.Enjang Effendi emphasized that he had coordinated and communicated with a number of religious leaders, community leaders, and various elements who were concerned about the future of Karawang's young generation. According to him, issues involving public morality should not be considered as ordinary issues, but must be addressed wisely, firmly and responsibly in order to maintain social order and the cultural values that live in society.
"We have coordinated with various religious figures and community leaders who are concerned about the future of the people of Karawang. What is circulating in this public space must not be ignored. The government and related parties must immediately carry out investigations, checks and take the necessary steps in accordance with applicable regulations," stressed Enjang. According to him, if violations of regional regulations or other legal provisions are found, the regional government must have the courage to take firm action without discrimination.Furthermore, Enjang reminded that Karawang is known as an area that upholds religious, cultural and local wisdom values. Therefore, all parties have a shared responsibility to maintain a social environment that is healthy, safe and conducive to the development of the younger generation. He emphasized that efforts to maintain public morality are not solely the government's task, but are also the collective responsibility of all components of the nation.In his view, preventive measures must be prioritized over neglect. He asked the relevant agencies to carry out stricter supervision of the operations of nightclubs and ensure that all business activities run according to applicable regulations. According to him, the government's firmness will be clear evidence of its alignment with the interests of the wider community.Enjang also invited the public to express their aspirations in an orderly, peaceful manner and in accordance with the law. He emphasized that criticism and demands from the public must be directed at efforts to improve the situation and encourage the birth of policies that are in favor of the public interest. According to him, the voice of the people conveyed constitutionally is an important part of democratic life."We hope that the regional government will not turn a blind eye to the growing unrest in the community. If violations are found that are disturbing the community and are in conflict with applicable regulations, then there must be clear and measurable action. Don't let this problem drag on until it causes a bigger commotion," he said.At the end of his statement, Enjang Effendi invited all elements of Karawang society to strengthen the role of family, education, and character development of the younger generation. According to him, the future of the region is not only determined by physical development and economic growth, but also by the success of maintaining moral values, ethics and social responsibility which are the foundation of social life. With synergy between the government, religious leaders, community leaders and residents, he believes that Karawang can remain a developed, competitive region, while adhering to the values respected by the community.
