The granting of remissions is not just a gift, but rather a form of state appreciation for the good behavior and obedience of inmates during their training period in prison.The Head of Karawang Prison, Christo Toar, explained that remissions are a real form of appreciation for those who actively take part in the development program and show positive changes in attitude. "It is hoped that this granting of remission will be a strong motivation for the inmates to continue to behave well, obey the rules, and prepare themselves thoroughly to contribute again to society," said Christo.
An atmosphere of emotion enveloped the moment, especially for Ramadhan, one of the inmates who received one month's remission and was immediately declared free right on Eid. "Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to be free right away during Eid al-Fitr. This is a very meaningful experience and the most beautiful gift for me and my family," he said gratefully.It is hoped that the momentum of granting Eid al-Fitr remission will be an encouragement for all other inmates to continue to improve themselves. The government hopes that, after returning to society, former inmates can look forward to a better future and not repeat the mistakes of the past.
