Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, Sad news enveloped Karawang residents after a driver named Umar Bakri (44) was found dead suddenly on Jalan Raya Bringinbendo KM 19, Taman District, Sidoarjo. This heartbreaking incident occurred on Thursday (26/03/2026) evening, right in front of a bolt shop, shortly after the victim had eaten dinner.Reporting from Gelorajatim.com, the chronology began at around 19.00 WIB when the victim visited his regular duck rice stall at the scene of the incident. After eating as usual, the victim contacted his nephew, Madinatul Munawaroh, via telephone. In this last conversation, Umar Bakri complained about his health condition continuing to decline and explained his position at that time.
Feeling worried, the nephew immediately contacted the witness, Moh. Uli Al Absar (25), who lives nearby, checked on the victim's condition. However, unfortunately, when he arrived at the scene, the witness found the victim lying helplessly on the side of the road. Medical officers from the Taman Community Health Center who arrived shortly afterwards stated that the man from West Java had died at the location.The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Taman Police, AKP Hajir Sujalmo, SH, explained that the police had visited the location to ask for witness statements and carry out administrative procedures including Visum et Repertum (VER). Based on the results of the initial examination and information from the family, the victim is known to have a history of heart disease which is thought to be the main cause of the sudden death.Regarding this incident, the family refused to carry out an autopsy and have made an official statement. The family accepted this incident as a disaster and asked that Umar Bakri's body be immediately taken back to his hometown in Karawang for burial. The police confirmed that there were no signs of violence on the victim's body and this case was closed as natural death due to illness.
