Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, Commission I of the Karawang Regency DPRD gave a strong ultimatum regarding the operation of night entertainment venues (THM) which were allegedly not complying with complete legality. Member of Commission I DPRD Karawang, Saepudin Zuhri, emphasized that the government must act firmly against entrepreneurs who are proven to have violated Karawang Regency Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 10 of 2021.This urge emerged following reports regarding allegations that THM was continuing to operate even though it had been reprimanded by the relevant authorities. Saepudin asked the executive to immediately take concrete steps in the form of sealing every THM that is proven to have committed a violation, until all operational licensing requirements are met."There should be no more tolerance. Every THM that is proven to have committed a licensing violation, must be sealed until all permits are complete," Saepudin stressed to the media crew, Monday (13/07/2026).
This firm step is a follow-up to the in-depth post-surprise inspection (sidak) discussion carried out by the Regent of Karawang, Aep Syaepuloh, together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). During the inspection, allegations of serious violations were found, ranging from incomplete permits to allegations of use of fake permit documents by the management.Saepudin demanded that the alleged falsification of these documents be immediately thoroughly investigated by the relevant technical services and law enforcement officials. Commission I DPRD Karawang has asked the Department of Investment and One Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) and the Department of Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs to carry out a comprehensive inventory of all THMs operating in the jurisdiction of Karawang Regency."We emphasize that the executive should not issue recommendations or operational permits before all legal aspects are fulfilled. We also plan to form a Licensing Task Force to closely monitor activities that have the potential to cause social vulnerability. Enforcement of regulations must be carried out consistently in order to maintain the authority of the government and protect interests society," he concluded.
