Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The existence of the Sentosa Medika Clinic in the Rengasdengklok area, Karawang Regency, is currently in the public spotlight. It is strongly suspected that the health facility managed by a figure known as "Mantri Bagja" does not have an official operational permit, even though it is reported that it has served the community for decades. Ironically, medical service activities at this location are reportedly still continuing as usual even though the clinic nameplate is no longer installed in the front area.Head of the Rengasdengklok Community Health Center, dr. Cucu Siti Minfallah, firmly stated that his party had given a strong warning to the management to stop operations before all permits were fulfilled. However, the warning from the local health authorities seems to have gone unheeded, considering that patients continue to come to get treatment. This has sparked big questions among the public regarding the effectiveness of supervision by the Karawang District Health Service regarding health practices in the area.

Apart from the issue of facility permits, allegations of serious violations also point to the legality of medical personnel practicing at the clinic. There are indications that health services are provided without mandatory documents such as a Registration Certificate (STR) or Practice Permit (SIP or SIPP) as regulated in Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. Without guarantees of service standards that comply with regulations, it is feared that patient safety will be at risk of dangerous medical risks.Responding to this, Bagja as the manager claims that the services provided so far are purely humanitarian in nature to help local residents. He also mentioned that the process of obtaining a clinic permit is currently ongoing. However, from a regulatory perspective, humanitarian reasons cannot invalidate formal legal obligations for every facility or health worker operating in Indonesian jurisdiction.Until this news was published, there had been no further official statement from the Karawang District Health Service regarding sanctions or concrete disciplinary steps that would be taken. The public is now calling for firm action from local governments to enforce the law and protect the public from potential illegal medical practices. It is hoped that this case will become a momentum for a comprehensive evaluation of the health facility monitoring system in all corners of Karawang.
