Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Women and Children Protection Investigation Unit (PPA-PPO) of the Karawang Police succeeded in arresting a man with the initials AH (40) on suspicion of molesting a minor. The perpetrator, a resident of Rawagempol Village, Cilamaya Wetan District, was arrested after the victim's parents reported the immoral act to the police. Head of Public Relations Section for the Karawang Police, Ipda Cep Wildan, confirmed that the suspect has now been arrested to be held accountable for his depraved actions.This heartbreaking incident was revealed after the victim, a girl with the initials KPA (8), complained of pain every time she urinated after returning from a sleepover from the perpetrator's house. The victim's parents, who felt suspicious, then took their child to a local midwife for a medical examination. The shocking results of the examination found injuries to the victim's vital organs, which strengthened the suspicion that there had been an act of sexual violence committed by the perpetrator while the victim was asleep.
The modus operandi used by the perpetrator was to take advantage of the closeness and trust of the victim's family. At the end of May 2024, AH went to the victim's parents' house in Banyusari District under the pretext of missing him and invited the victim to stay overnight at his house in Sentiong Hamlet. Unfortunately, this trust was actually misused by the perpetrator to carry out his depraved actions, and the suspect even threatened the victim to keep the incident a secret from anyone.The police have secured a number of important pieces of evidence, including the clothes the victim was wearing at the time of the incident, as well as the results of the Visum Et Repertum (VeR) which became strong evidence in the investigation process. Apart from examining the reporter and witnesses, investigators have also taken procedural legal steps to ensure that this case proceeds according to the rules. The perpetrator AH must now be languishing in the Karawang Police detention cell to undergo further legal proceedings.For his disgraceful actions, AH was charged under Article 415 or Article 414 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, with the threat of a maximum prison sentence of nine years. The Karawang Police stated that they would immediately coordinate with the Public Prosecutor (JPU) so that this case could be tried immediately. This case is a strong reminder for parents in Karawang to always be alert and look after their children, even towards people they know closely.
