The perpetrator allegedly acted when the environment around the minimarket was quiet, so he was free to carry out the burglary.The losses experienced by the minimarket were quite significant. Based on information gathered at the scene, the perpetrators managed to steal cash from the safe with a nominal value of approximately IDR 52 million. Apart from the money from the safe, the perpetrator also drained the money stored on the cashier's desk and took away a number of cigarette stocks from the display rack.This burglary was first discovered by the Karawang Regency Satpol PP patrol team. At that time, officers were on guard to secure the MSME bazaar activities and the 2026 World Cup viewing event (nobar) which took place at Karangpawitan Field. Considering that Alfamart was only a few hundred meters away, officers immediately responded quickly to check the situation.
Head of Operations and Control (Opsdal) of the Karawang Regency Satpol PP, Tata Suparta, confirmed the incident. His party immediately deployed personnel to the location after receiving the report. However, when the Satpol PP team arrived at the crime scene (TKP), the perpetrators were thought to have managed to escape with their loot.In order to maintain the security of the evidence, Satpol PP personnel immediately set up guard around the outlet area while waiting for the arrival of the police. This step was taken to anticipate public order disturbances (trantibum) and to ensure that the condition of the crime scene was not contaminated by local residents who were curious about the minimarket robbery incident.Until this news was published, the police were still carrying out an intensive investigation regarding this aggravated theft case. The investigative team is collecting supporting evidence, including carrying out a thorough examination of CCTV footage in the outlet. The authorities have not provided official information regarding the number of perpetrators or the modus operandi used in this criminal act.
