The Alliance emphasized that they are actually urging total transparency regarding all entertainment business permits in Karawang Regency without exception. This step was taken to prove that their movement was purely for the sake of upholding the rules and not just to target certain parties.Chairman of the Presidium of the Karawang United Islamic Organization Alliance Forum, Agus Iman, revealed the document evidence of the public information request number PI260213F0S7I which had been submitted since last February. Agus regretted the response of the Karawang Regional Government (Pemda) which only provided total THM figures per sub-district without detailed details of company names or permit status. In fact, the Alliance is asking for concrete data regarding the recapitulation of the status of Certificates of Functional Worthiness (SLF) and Building Approval (PBG) for each business unit.Agus Iman is now throwing a hot ball by raising suspicions that there is fear on the part of the Regional Government to reveal this data transparently. He strongly criticized the Regional Government's excuse for calling this detailed data "excluded information". According to Agus, according to legal regulations, the determination of exempt information must go through a strict consequence testing process, not just a unilateral bureaucratic decision to cover up non-compliance with the rules.
In the midst of these obstacles to data access, the Alliance still succeeded in putting pressure on the legislature until Commission I DPRD Karawang issued a letter of recommendation for closure of THMs that violated regulations. Currently, the magic letter is on the desk of the Chairman of the Karawang DPRD to be immediately signed and copied to the Regent. This movement is proof that the Alliance is not remaining silent even though the Regional Government seems to be "playing it safe" by hiding detailed licensing data behind administrative pretexts. Agus suspects that the regional government's reluctance to carry out consequence tests and disclose detailed data is an opening for the practice of "flirting" between the bureaucracy and rogue entrepreneurs. The Alliance's vision is very clear: if regional governments are clean, they should not hesitate to disclose details of THM data so that the public can participate in monitoring.Concluding his statement, Agus Iman emphasized that the Alliance Forum will continue to carry out social control functions in accordance with applicable legal corridors.
