Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, PT PLN (Persero) through the Construction Management Implementation Unit I (UPMK I) recorded crucial achievements in strengthening the national electricity system in the Karawang region. PLN succeeded in energizing (giving voltage) the Extension 2 Line Bay (LB) 150 kV Telukjambe Main Substation (GI) and 150 kV Telukjambe II – Telukjambe High Voltage Overhead (SUTT) projects. This strategic project is the result of cross-unit synergy between PLN and stakeholders to increase the capacity and reliability of electricity distribution in industrial areas.This electricity infrastructure is specifically designed to answer large-scale power needs, with the main focus supplying PT Pindo Deli Pulp & Paper Mills in the Indah Kiat Karawang (IKK) area. The scope of work includes the construction of 1 Line Bay Telukjambe II as well as the completion of the 150 kV SUTT transmission towards Indah Kiat Sirkit 1. This transmission line is supported by 40 towers stretching 9,890 kilometers, with an installed supply capacity of 150 kV 250 MVA to ensure the stability of manufacturing operations.

Considering that Karawang is the backbone of industry and manufacturing, providing reliable electricity is a fixed price so that the industrial sector can compete globally. The synergy between UPMK I, PLN UIP JBT, and PLN UID West Java has proven effective in accelerating the completion of this vital infrastructure on time and in accordance with established technical standards. In line with this, UPMK I Manager, Muhammad Rajul Kahfie, stated that this stronger system not only benefits the industrial sector, but also has a positive impact on the surrounding community. With a stable electricity supply, the risk of blackouts can be minimized so that the economic activities of Karawang residents can run more safely and comfortably.
