Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Karawang Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) officially started structuring the Cikampek area on Thursday (16/7/2026) starting at 08.00 WIB. This firm step was taken as an effort by the regional government to control illegal buildings and street vendor stalls (PKL) which have been deemed to violate city spatial planning regulations.The Head of the Operations and Control Section (Kasi Opsdal) of the Karawang Satpol PP, Tata Suparta, revealed that this activity aims to support the development of strategic infrastructure. This development includes improving the drainage system, revitalizing sidewalks, and arranging city parks, in order to create a neater, safer and more comfortable Cikampek area for local residents.In the process, Satpol PP ensures that all procedures have been followed according to the rules, starting from verbal appeals to the issuance of Warning Letters (SP) I, II and III. His party appreciates building owners who have shown good faith by carrying out independent demolition, but will still take firm action against buildings that are still standing in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
The implementation of this control was a collaborative action involving combined elements from the Cikampek District Government, Karawang Police, Kodim 0604/Karawang, TNI Sub-denpom, Transportation Agency, PUPR Service, DLH, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). This cross-agency synergy is carried out to ensure that the arrangement runs conducively and smoothly in the field.Responding to the circulating issues, Tata emphasized that there was no delay in the control schedule. The determination of July 16 is the result of the final agreement between the Regional Government and PT KAI, which aims to provide additional time for building owners to be able to carry out demolition independently in order to minimize material losses.The entire series of actions refers to Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 16 of 2023 and Karawang Regency Regional Regulation Number 10 of 2020. Satpol PP hopes that through this arrangement of the Cikampek area, the function of public facilities can return to optimality, so that the benefits of infrastructure development can be felt directly by all Karawang community.
