Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Population and Civil Registration Service (Disdukcapil) of Karawang Regency has officially appealed to migrants residing temporarily in this rice barn area to immediately register themselves as non-permanent residents. Through an outreach initiative entitled "Ngerantau Becomes Calm", the regional government is trying to ensure that all residents outside the region continue to receive legal population administration (Adminduk) protection. This step is very crucial so that migrants can access public services smoothly even though they have not changed their domicile permanently.Secretary of the Karawang Dukcapil Office, Saepul Muhtadin, explained that non-permanent resident status is intended for residents who live temporarily, but their e-KTP data is still recorded in their area of origin. In accordance with applicable regulations, the period of stay in this category has a maximum period of one year before the person concerned is advised to arrange the move-in. This initiative is also a preventive effort by the government to avoid confusion in population data for domestic migrant workers who flock to Karawang after the return flow of Eid 2026.To simplify the registration process, people only need to prepare simple requirements such as a photocopy of their electronic KTP and family card (KK) from their area of origin. Immigrants are required to fill out the F-1.15 form which can be submitted via the village, sub-district office or the nearest Disdukcapil service unit. "This registration is a form of compliance with administrative order, so that the presence of migrant residents in Karawang is legally monitored by the state," said Saepul on Wednesday (15/4/2026).Interestingly, the Karawang Dukcapil Office is now presenting a digital solution through the Digital Population Identity (IKD) application for residents who have high mobility, such as factory workers in industrial areas. It is hoped that this online registration will be able to reach more entrants without having to queue at a physical office. The digitalization of this service is part of the transformation of public services to accelerate the mapping of the number of residents living temporarily in residential centers and strategic industrial zones in Karawang.
Apart from focusing on collecting data on workers and migrants, this agency also launched an inclusive program entitled "Dukcapil is There for You". This service is specifically for vulnerable residents of the population administration, ranging from the elderly, people with disabilities, to residents who are sick and unable to come directly to the service center. For residents who need special assistance or further information, Disdukcapil has provided a fast communication channel via the official hotline at 0857-7696-7055.With this gradual data collection, the Karawang Regency Government hopes to have a more accurate data base for planning development and distribution of public services that are right on target. Accurate data on the number of immigrants will really help the government in managing public facilities and social security for the entire population, both permanent and non-permanent. Orderly population administration is the main key in creating a safe and orderly social climate for all
