Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, Efforts to encourage economic independence among workers continue to be strengthened through strategic collaboration between the Federation of Islamic Workers Unions (FSPI) and the KERSA MSME Foundation. Friendship and discussion activities held on May 1 2021 at the KERSA Secretariat, Jl. Sawo No. 5 RT 01/RW 11, Karawang, focuses on developing entrepreneurial potential for employees who are still actively working at the company. This collaboration aims to help workers not only depend on a fixed income, but also be able to build additional sources of income through independent business. FSPI Secretary, Wawan, said that members' enthusiasm is quite high, especially in the catfish farming sector which is considered to have very promising prospects. According to him, many members are interested in developing a catfish business because it can be started on a small scale, does not take up space, and has a relatively fast capital turnover. It is hoped that this potential will be able to become a new economic driving force for workers' families amidst the current economic challenges.Meanwhile, a presentation from the KERSA MSME Foundation was delivered by Lutfi as KERSA secretary. He explained the institution's profile, vision and mission, as well as priority programs that focus on empowering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and business assistance. Lutfi emphasized that to create a sustainable business, an understanding of business management and legality is very necessary.
On this occasion, Lutfi also highlighted the importance of complete administration as the main foundation for business continuity and development. Currently, the KERSA MSME Foundation provides various business licensing assistance services which include halal certification, PIRT (Home Industrial Food), and HAKI (Intellectual Property Rights). This step is considered important to increase market confidence while ensuring that businesses run in accordance with applicable regulations. The interactive discussion, which lasted for approximately four hours, also featured a number of expert practitioners who shared their experiences in various fields. Present at the event were Idris as a representative of the laying hen breeder group and a lecturer at the Toyota Indonesia Academy, Jun as a hydroponics activist and advocate, and Wawan who was a catfish cultivation activist. These resource persons opened up opportunities for further collaboration in the livestock, cultivation and modern agriculture sectors which are considered to have great potential for workers.The activity, which lasted until 23.00 WIB, closed with a joint commitment to follow up on the formation of business groups in various regions. In the future, further discussions will focus on strengthening the group structure and concrete implementation of the program. Through this synergy, FSPI is expected to become a driving force for the economy, while the KERSA MSME Foundation acts as a center for coaching, education and mentoring of MSMEs for the community.
