Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Karawang Regency Government (Pemkab) is starting to tighten its preparedness ahead of the peak of the return flow for Eid 2026 which is predicted to fall on Monday (23/3/2026) and Tuesday (24/3/2026). The Regent of Karawang, Aep Syaepuloh, emphasized that various mitigation scenarios have been finalized, including intensive coordination with the Karawang Police and toll road managers to ensure the smooth flow of vehicle volume to Jakarta.One of the strategic steps being prepared is the functional use of the Japek 2 South Toll Road. "We continue to coordinate so that the Japek 2 Toll Road can be re-functioned to distribute vehicle loads from Java to Jakarta, so that they don't concentrate at one point," said Regent Aep when holding an Eid open house in Karawang, Saturday (21/3/2026).Apart from the toll road, the Karawang Regency Government is paying special attention to motorbike travelers by optimizing alternative routes. Aep appealed to residents not to only rely on the Pantura route which is prone to congestion. As a solution, the arterial route from Cikalong to West Karawang, as well as the Kalimalang inspection route connecting Cibitung to Bekasi, have been prepared with adequate supporting facilities.
"We have prepared the inspection road well; public road lighting (PJU) has been installed and potholes have been filled for the safety of travelers," he explained. To support operations in the field, 16 integrated posts have been established in strategic locations, including in the KM 62 Rest Area, involving personnel from the Transportation Service, Health Service, and Karawang District Hospital.Regent Aep also expressed his appreciation to the police because this year's homecoming flow was considered relatively conducive without any fatalities on the arterial route. Considering Karawang's position as the main fulcrum for travelers from Central Java and East Java heading to the capital city, infrastructure readiness and security are an absolute priority. The Karawang Regency Government hopes that with this alternative route scheme and security posts, the return flow in 2026 can be carried out safely, comfortably and under control.
