Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Karawang Regency, West Java, recorded that 2,585 families consisting of 7,704 people in six villages are currently affected by the clean water crisis due to the dry season. The regional government together with related agencies continue to intensify the distribution of clean water logistics assistance to ensure that the basic needs of people in affected areas remain well met. "Since the last few months until now, we have continued to distribute clean water assistance to drought areas," said Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Karawang, Ferry Muharram, when contacted in Karawang, Monday. Based on updated data as of Monday morning (20/7), the total need for clean water that has been distributed to target locations has reached 152,000 liters.In detail, the six villages experiencing a clean water crisis due to the drought this year include Mulangsari Village in Pangkalan District, Kutalanggeng Village and Cintalanggeng Village in Tegalwaru District. Apart from that, the affected areas also include Mulyasejati Village, Kutanegara Village, and Parungmulya Village which are located in the Ciampel District area.
The number of residents and areas experiencing drought in Karawang Regency was observed to have expanded compared to the conditions three days earlier. In previous monitoring records, BPBD Karawang noted that 5,494 residents or 1,836 heads of families spread across four villages were having difficulty getting clean water supplies.Responding to this emergency drought situation, the regional government together with relevant stakeholders are committed to continuing to be ready to supply clean water supplies on a regular basis. This tactical step was taken to lighten the burden on residents while ensuring the availability of clean water for thousands of people affected during the peak of the dry season.Through this rapid response effort, BPBD Karawang appealed to all communities in the affected areas to always use water wisely and sparingly. Residents are also asked to immediately coordinate through the local village government if they face further obstacles so that the distribution of clean water aid can continue to be optimized on target.
