Visitors who were enjoying their holiday were shocked by the strong smell of gas that spread quickly in the area, triggering spontaneous panic. A number of visitors were seen rushing to escape the building to avoid the risk of explosion or poisoning due to exposure to gas in the public space. Responding to the emergency report, the Karawang BPBD team was immediately dispatched to the location to sterilize the affected area. Based on observations in the field, officers immediately installed barricades to ensure that no residents approached the source of the leak on the ground floor. Even though the situation was tense, until now the Head of BPBD Karawang, Usep, has not provided any official information regarding the in-depth chronology or volume of the leak that occurred at the largest shopping center in Galuh Mas.

KCP Mall Building Manager, Rizki Setiawan, confirmed that the condition was successfully handled in a relatively short time by the operational technical team. They emphasized that safety standards and visitor comfort remain the main priority in daily operations. Even though conditions are conducive, this incident is a strong alarm for public place managers in Karawang to continue to tighten supervision of infrastructure to prevent potential dangers that could threaten the safety of the wider community.
