Seputarkarawang.com - Karawang, The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) together with the Karawang Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Service (DPMPTSP) carried out a surprise inspection (sidak) of a number of nightlife venues (THM) on Wednesday (29/4/2026) evening. The monitoring activity, which took place from 20.00 to 24.00 WIB, found five business premises that had not completed permits and local tax provisions. The five night entertainment venues netted in the inspection included Brotherhood Cafe, New Rich Cafe & Bar, Tropical Resto Karaoke & Bar, D'Tipsy Cafe & Resto, and Sultan Reborn. Based on the results of on-site inspections, the majority of new business actors have Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and have not completed further operational permits, including permits for the sale of alcoholic drinks and Building Approval (PBG).The Karawang Regency DPMPTSP representative, Sandi Susilo, explained that this joint inspection is focused on mentoring and coaching efforts so that business actors have orderly administration. The regional government hopes that this compliance can encourage the optimization of Regional Original Income (PAD), especially from the food, beverage and alcoholic beverage tax sector.

Meanwhile, the Head of Regional Legislation Enforcement (PPUD) of the Karawang Satpol PP, Da Prasetya Wirabrata, emphasized that business actors must immediately adjust the function of the building before processing further permits. According to him, the purpose of the building where the business is located cannot be a normal shophouse, but must be changed according to its purpose. "The purpose of the building must be changed to a bar, not a shophouse. After that, you can take care of alcoholic beverage permits and other permits," said Da Prasetya. As a follow-up to this finding, the Karawang Satpol PP has scheduled a summons for all THM managers on Tuesday (5/5/2026). The government has given a time limit of 13 days in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) so that managers immediately complete all licensing documents. If there is no good faith from the management after this time limit, Satpol PP emphasizes that it will take firm action in the form of temporarily stopping operations and sealing the business premises.
